After surpassing Fogarty, Razgatlioglu is only three wins behind his next target… rival Alvaro Bautista

The MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship heads to the beautiful TT Circuit Assen for Round 3 of the 2025 campaign. The Pirelli Dutch Round is the next stop for the grid after two incredible rounds so far and more of the same is expected. With the next round already upon us, it’s time to check out some of the key numbers from Assen and milestones that could be reached in the Netherlands...

150 – The next race for Alvaro Bautista (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) will be his 150th for Ducati. His next target is Troy Bayliss at 154. The absolute record belongs to Michael Rinaldi at 222.

98 – Tito Rabat (Yamaha Motoxracing WorldSBK Team) is two races short of becoming the 73rd rider with 100 WorldSBK starts.

68 – Assen is in second place for races hosted: 68, 5 short of the WorldSBK record of 73 held by Phillip Island.

60-63 - Toprak Razgatlioglu (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team) with his hat-trick of wins at Portimao came within striking distance of second place in the all-time wins list, held by Bautista at 63.

60-62 – Turkey – with Razgatlioglu alone – is two wins short of reaching Japan in sixth in the all-time list for wins, 62. The last Japanese win was recorded by Noriyuki Haga at the Nurburgring in 2010.

58-86 – With a win percentage of 58.3% (21 out of 36) and a podium percentage of 86.1% (31 out of 36), Toprak Razgatlioglu has the best ratios ever for a manufacturer among riders with at least 10 starts with any given make. His best rival for wins is Ben Spies, with a 50%-win rate for Yamaha (14 out of 28) and Jonathan Rea (Pata Maxus Yamaha) for podiums: 80.9% for Kawasaki (221 out of 273).

35 – The Dutch track is a home for British wins: no fewer than 35 out of 68. The next countries for wins at Assen are Australia and Spain on 9.

33-30 Last year, Ducati upped their tally of Assen wins to 33, which is more than the sum of its nearest rivals, Honda and Kawasaki with 15 each.

26 – 26 Dutch riders were able to start at least one WorldSBK race. The most successful is current BMW rider Michael van der Mark (ROKiT BMW Motorrad WorldSBK Team), the only one able to record wins (6); poles (1) and podiums (42).

22 – No fewer than 22 different riders have won a WorldSBK race at Assen. The last ones were added last year, with remarkable achievements: Nicholas Spinelli, winner on debut, and Toprak Razgatlioglu, first winner for BMW here.

17 – 17 wins for Rea at Assen: the absolute record for a rider on any given track.

16 – The last of the two Yamaha wins here came 16 years ago, in the hands of Ben Spies (Race 1 2009).

14 – Nicolo Bulega (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) is on a streak of 14 podium finishes (since Aragon/SPR last year), the 11th all-time streak. With 3 more, he would join Jonathan Rea for the 6th all-time sequence (Phillip Island/1 – Laguna Seca/1 2016).

10 – Bulega has 9 wins for Ducati. So far, 15 riders managed 10 or more wins for the Italian manufacturer. The most successful is Bautista at 63. A 10th win will also lift him up to 29th in the all-time list.

8 – Bautista and Ducati, in 2019, stopped a record string of wins by a single manufacturer at Assen: Kawasaki had won the previous 8 races here (2015-2018).

8-8 – Both Rea and Carl Fogarty were able to win 8 consecutive races at Assen. Fogarty set the record from 1993 to 1996, Rea from 2014 Race 2 to 2018 Race 1.

6 – Only Kawasaki were able to record six straight poles at Assen: the string was set from 2012 to 2017 and was broken in 2018 by Alex Lowes (Yamaha), who in turn ended a pole drought for Yamaha which lasted since 2011 (a wait of 6 years and 308 days).

5 – Rea last year set the record for Assen poles: 5. Rea lost his 2017 physical pole due to a penalty and got the ’23 one after Bautista was penalised.

3 – Only 3 riders managed to record their maiden career win at Assen: Chris Walker (Race 1, 2006), Sylvain Guintoli (Race 1, 2012), Spinelli (Race 1, 2024, debut race for him).

2x11 – From 2019 to 2023, a streak of 11 races, there were only two winners: Rea (5) and Bautista (6).

1-1-1 – A venue of firsts for Alex Lowes (bimota by Kawasaki Racing Team): first podium and first fastest lap in 2014 Race 2; maiden Superpole in 2018.
